QuestionHow do i get them off my trees and plants. they kill everything they grow on. is there a spray or do you have to pick them off?
AnswerIt really doesnt matter what type of fern or spanish moss you are having problems with. Resurrection fern and spanish moss are epiphytes and are not parasitic to the tree. They use the tree branches for support only. They are very difficult to control once established. The only thing I can suggest is to use a copper containing compund like Hi-Yield Copper Fungicide and try to spray them with that. It may take 4-5 applications to kill them that way. Physical removal is laborious but may be your only choice. Herbicides are not recommended because they can harm your trees. Sorry for this response. Good Luck.
