QuestionQUESTION: I bought dahlia plant a couple of months ago. It is growing well, but for some reason only new appearing leaves stay stray. All mature leaves are getting curly and reclining down. I never had this flower before and I wanted to ask if it's normal or some kind of disease? I live in Northern California and keep it inside on the window pane. I could not find any insects on it. Checked under the leaves too.
Sincerely,
Jess
ANSWER: Sounds like you may be watering it a little too much. This would cause the crown to begin to rot resulting in the older leaves to curl and turn brown. Back off the water a little bit and see if this helps. If not--- reply back and we can go in another direction. Good Luck.

QUESTION: Thank you very much! I do tend to overwater all my flowers. The soil seems to get dry very quickly.
Can you please tell me approximately how often should I water them?
Jess
AnswerI would water the pot until the water runs out the bottom. I would not water again until the soil feel dry to the fingertip. This could vary from 5-7 days up to 10 days depending on the potting soil the plant is in and how much sunlight the plants gets.
