QuestionThe leaves of the rose plant in our house appear to have been shrik wrapped by a web made by tiny little white creatures. Any idea of how to get rid of the web and the little creatures so that the rose can survive?
AnswerIt is definitely an insect pest. It sounds like spider mites since there is a web. I would immediately take the plant outside and spray with either malathion, sevin or a safer soap solution to try to kill a few of them. I would then go to Home Depot and purchase Bayer Advanced Rose Insecticide. Mix according to label instructions and pour on the soil. This is a systemic insecticide that will be taken up by the plant and kill the bugs (whatever they are) and keep bugs off the plant for over six months. Good luck.
