QuestionHi- I have recently transplanted several aloe vera plants from my back garden to the front - they were doing really well until recently when we have had lots of rain. Two of them are covered with a yellow brown fungus - I'm worried this will spread to the others - & what is it?
AnswerMy first question is -- is there fresh mulch put around the plants. There are primitive fungi called slime molds that are not parasitic to plants but reside in the ground and tend to grow up on anything, especially freshly turned soil with new organic matter. Try rubbing the mold off the plants. It starts out kinda slimy and dries quickly in the sun. If it comes off clean, then I would say this is what you are dealing with. If it is attached to the plant tightly, I may need a picture to tell what we are dealing with. Please respond with your comments.
