QuestionI am a landscape designer in Mesa, AZ. I have a client who has a peach tree in his yard that has been healthy and fruitful for about 6 years. The trunk and several branches have become covered with a thick, amber resin. The tree appears otherwise healthy and is still producing fruit. Can you suggest a possible condition that I could research. Thank you.
AnswerHi Joyce..the peach tree has borers in it. Where the sticky stuff is coming out you can take a sewing needle and stick it in all around the wound and it will kill the borer. The other step would be to use a systemic which is poison and being an organic nursery would not recommend that way. kathy
