Question
Hi, my mom has a rubber plant & she said the leaves are falling off.  It has moderate sunlight & waters it as needed.  I have 2 Ponytail palms & they seem as though they're growth is stunted.  They have long foliage & the trunks have not grown.  I water them as needed & they have excellent sunlight.

Hi Sandra...I would have to guess that the leaves are falling off due to lack of water.  The roots maybe getting to much for the pot that it is in.  I use a product called Saturade by Florikan that helps loosen the soil and keeps the water near the roots of the plant.  I use it in all my container plants.  In the ground it helps keep the water from going down the drain so to speak and keeps it near the plant.   Yellow leaves or falling off leaves not enough water or fertilizer problem.  Too much water is a slow death.  kathy

A plant will only get as big as the container that it is in, sounds that it is move up time.
