QuestionA red growth (fungus ?)on my weeping willow has appeared on the lower part of the tree trunk (from the ground up approx 18 inches). Some of the bark, close to the ground, has separated and the growth is growing under the bark as well. There are numberous patches, oblong, like the shape of football, size varing from 1/2 to 1 1/2 inches in length. I live in arkansas and the tree is approx three years old. The tree grew quickly and beautifully all last year and was sprayed last fall to prevent general fungus and pest. The ground has been very wet for several weeks.
What can I do to save the tree? It is the most beautiful part of the yard?
Thanks for your help.
