QuestionI have two older sago palms that are covered with what looks like a white powder. Both palms have large amounts on them-the new growth starts with a healthy look and then the white powder takes over? What is this and what is the best way to treat? We are on the west central coast of Florida- rain fall has definitely not been excessive. THANKS!
AnswerHi Joanie,
This sounds like powdery mildew, but that is not usually a bit pest in cycads. I am still researching the topic. I'll get back to you. (I will be out of town until Monday. In the meantime check your local garden center to see if they have heard of powdery mildew on cycads.)
