THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP. LIBBY IN MISSISSIPPI
AnswerFor tar spot
The fungus survives the winter in fallen leaves. Rake up and discard the leaves in fall. And use a fungicide on the leaves.
Spraying three times at two-week intervals with a copper fungicide (Hi-Yield Copper Fungicide, or Ferti-lome Black Spot & Powdery Mildew Control) or mancozeb (Bonide Mancozeb Flowable, Southern Ag Dithane M-45) starting when the leaves begin to unfurl in spring will provide control. Read and follow all directions on the label.
White Flies
Use an Insecticide such as Ortho Bug-B-Gon Max Lawn & Garden Insect Killer, Bayer Advanced Rose & Flower Insect Killer, or Spectracide Rose & Flower Insect Spray. Spray weekly making sure both sides of the leaves are sprayed. I would check with your local nursery/ garden type store for an insecticide for white flies.
