Question
I have lost a white birch to boring beetles.  This tree was close to the house, can it infest my wood shingles or the house itself?
I have also noticed that no other tree in the neighborhood has been infected.  Why mine?
I have seen the hole in a ginko that is close to the birch.  I have treated all the trees that are on my property and told my neighbors about this bug.  I have used Bayer Advanced tree & shrub insect control.  Is this the best product to use?  I have 18 trees on my property.
What else can you tell me about this beetle.  Oh, I live in California.
