QuestionJim,
We have a Redbud tree that has been identified
with having leaf mold. Two seperate nurseries told us this and they both said that the tree would not die. However all of the leafs have turned yellow and almost all of them have fallen off.
All they could tell us to do, was that once a week
soak the base at least one ft. deep. What can we do to not loose this tree?
AnswerI do not know the term "leaf mold" I would think what you have is called powdery mildew. This is a fungus that will get on a large number of species of plants but it is easily controlled with a fungicide. Here is a web link to more information on powdery mildew and its control. Check with your local nursery/garden type store for a fungicide for powdery mildew.
