QuestionI live in Northwestern Wyoming. I have a grove of quakies that have bulges on the branches. I cut one open and I found little worms in it. I was told I would have to cut them all out to get rid of them. If I did that I wouldn't have any trees left. Is there something I could inject into the tree to kill the bugs?

AnswerThese are called gall insects and will not kill the tree. Normally they will be controlled naturally and may if numerous cause some growth loss. I would noi worry about them the trees wil out grow the infestation. Here is a web link that gives more information on gall insects:
