QuestionI live in eastern North Carolina. I have two white dogwood trees that bloomed beautifully this spring. However, since the blossoms fell off, one looks very sick. There are several branches that have no leaves. Also, there looks like a fungus on some of the branches. Is there any help for this tree?
AnswerIt may have a disease called Dogwood Anthracnose, I would call the local office of the NC Forestry Service (state agency) and ask one of their Foresters to come take a look--this is a free servic in Most states. You should be able to find their number in the phone book. Here is a web link to a publication about Dogwood diseases.
