QuestionMs Crowley,
I live in south Florida and have been growing pineapples for the past 8 years. My problem is just recently my plants seem to be rotting from the center out. First they turn yellow or a pale green , then the centers pull out and they smell really bad. I had 31 plants and out of them 6 have been affected. The soil is a top soil and course sand mix. I have never had to fertilize, and up til now I have never had this problem.
Can you help me?
Thank you
Gene
AnswerHi Gene, I think the problem is that they are getting too much water and that could be all the rain we are getting or maybe you added a new sprinkler system. Rot on any plant indicates too much water. We have not been this wet in many years and I think you are getting more than I am which is Central Fl. kathy
