QuestionI received a large leaf shefflera that was very full and beautiful. Over the months it has been dropping its leaves. They start to turn brown on the plant and then drop. I don't see any bug infestation and I did re-pot the plant about a month and a half ago. When I water, I make sure that it is dry between watering and it is getting filtered light. I have two small shefflera near this large leaf shefflera and they are doing very well. What can I do to save this plant? Thank you in advance for your answer.
AnswerHi Pam, When watering a newly planted plant in a pot, most of your watering will be around the outside rim of the plant. The soil dries from the outside of the pot in and if you are watering the whole plant all the time you are drowning it, hense, brown leaves. Make sure if you put a dish under the plant that all water is removed after 15 minutes or it will also cause rot. kathy
