Question
Tree Leaves - close-up
This tree was planted the end of May 2010. It has struggled ever since. This spring it leafed out better than it had, although leaves were not the dark green of when we bought - much paler. Then leaves started to yellow and now look like the attached picture. Can you help?
AnswerBob:
The leaf color and sparse growth may indicate a soil related issue. Suggest a soil test and correct accordingly. Contact your local county Agricultural Extension office to get more details on this free test. Give the tree a good look over amd check for areas where the bark may have bee damaged, especially near the base.
