Question
Deformed tomato leaves
My tomato leaves are kind of shriveled on several plants. Also a brown color is getting on a lot of leaves. They have plenty of water and I think I fertilized them good. They are setting on some fruit, but not much. Flowers don't look too healthy either. If attached a picture. Hope you can help & thanks for looking at it.
AnswerAlbert:
Based on your image, these leaf symptoms are probably the result of a root/soil stress, rather than an infectious disease. These symptoms can be produced as result of a nutrient and/or water imbalance. The type of fertilizer should be special for tomatoes and vegetables. Sacrifice a plant or two by carefully digging it up and looking at the roots. Look for a white or cream colored root system. I am to assume all of your plants look like your photo.
Eventhough remote, review the history of any chemicals sprayed directly on the plants or added to the soil as well. Sometimes certain weed killers or other chemicals can cause this yellowing and deformaties when taken up by the roots.
