QuestionMy indian bean tree has one side of the tree's leaves turned completely brown and shriveled up. The other side is normal
AnswerDear Lindy, It is hard to know for certain, but I think that you either have borers or you have a branch with damage on it. Indian bean or catalpa trees almost never have anything wrong with them. True you have the Catawba worms that feed on the leaves, but that is about it. If you have a dead limb, I would cut it out because it won't get better. Look for small holes with sap dripping on the tree to indicate borers, and look for any damage the tree might have suffered. If you don't find any damage, it almost has to be borers (you may not notice the holes) and I would spray the tree with a borer spray. Fertilome makes a borer, bagworm, leafminer spray that is supposed to be very effective. I would spray several times as indicated on the label. Unless you notice something different, I would assume this to be borers. Let me know if you need further assistance. Good luck, Melissa
