QuestionHI
I have a 10-15 yr old Red Maple thet has no leaves on it. I do not know when all the leaves fell off. The braches are dead and have some moss on them. The tree has white spots all over the trunk. There is a rhondy next to the red maple that has dead leaves in the center of the plant but the rest of the plant is ok. We also have a magnolia in backyard that is loosing leaves and white spots on trunk but not as many as red maple. We also have 2 japanese red maples which have leaves but also have the white spots on trunk. Can you help me. we live in washington state.
AnswerDiane:
Sounds as if the maple may have died some time back. Can you send a photo of these white spots? Do you think that the white spots are the cause? They may be something coincidental. Are all of these declining plants close together in the yard? Maybe a few clues will help.
