QuestionIn the last week our Boston Ivy has started to wilt as though it were dying. The vine covers two sides of our brick home. I planted it approximately 20 years ago. I feed it in the Spring and water it regularly. In the Fall, I do cut it back from around the windows and doors but that's about it. In early May, I saw very small (size of a pin head) bubbles primarily on the stems. They were mikly but semi translucent in appearance. I sprayed water on the stems/leaves and was able to remove many of them. The leave continue to wilt. It has affected about one half of my ivy. Is there anything I can do to stop the wilting? What do you think has caused it?
AnswerHi Helen, As I do not grow this plant I contacted someone who does and here is his reply..kathy
Chemicals will only make it worse. Without a picture I don't know what the insect is. Sounds like larva. Get Atomic Grow on it fast and fertilize with npk and minor elements. Plant food spikes something with food. Spray atomic grow. At 3/4 oz. Rate weekly until vine recovers.
Atomic Grow is organic and can be used on all your plants. At my nursery I use it on everything and what a difference it makes. kathy
