QuestionI bought a mini daffodol pot plant for my kitchen and the leaves are still green but drooping terribly. Is this normal? what can i do to fix it?
AnswerNatasha,
If you've been watering the plant, it could be one of two things. If the plant is over-watered (kept constantly wet or in a bowl of water or in foil wrapping that holds water) the plant is rotting and the leaves will be limp because the roots are mushy and can't take up water. If you think this might be the case, tip the plant out of the pot and see what the roots look like - if they're brown and mushy, or if they smell like a swamp, the plant is probably too far gone and should be tossed.
If that's not the case, then it's probably because they aren't in enough light. You could put the plant outside for the day, moving it gradually into the sun over a period of days so that the plant is exposed to direct sunlight gradually. Or put it in a sunny window. Plants who aren't getting enough light stretch toward the light, and get weak.
If you have a place outdoors where you can plant the bulbs, do so now. Stick them in the soil so that the bulbs are about 3" down for these mini-daffs.
I hope this helps!
