QuestionIs it possible or advisable to prolong the blooms of minature daffodils by putting them in the refrigerator before incorporating them in a dish garden? (to be on public display in City Hall, Mount Dora, FL for the City's 100th anniversary on March 25th).
Any tips on prolonging daffodil blooms are appreciated!
Thank you,
Andrea
AnswerYes, the longer you can keep them cool the slower they will be to open. Don't let them go completely dry, but don't water them too frequently either...just keep them damp. If they are already starting to open, however, it will be difficult to freeze them as is. So be on the lookout for another pot of budded, but not open daffs to put into the dish just before you deliver it.
I hope this helps,
