QuestionHow do coleus do in the winter months in central Florida(not the larger tropical variety). I was told that even if there is a frost they would come right back,is this true? I'm a snow bird here now until the first weekend in Oct. and would like to plant them now and still enjoy them when I return (Jan/Feb/Mar/April). Your thoughts are appreciated. Thank you
AnswerSuzanne, coleus are classified as a hardy annual, meaning they will withstand a light frost, but they will not survive a hard freeze. Living in Florida, you probably will not have a problem. My only concern would be if the the temperatures fell below 30F.
Good luck, and please write again if I can ever provide assistance.

Mike
