QuestionI have 3 hanging pots of double impatience purchased about a month ago. They had lots of blooms on them when I purchased them. One pot now has very few blooms and I have noticed some of the leaves have turned yellow with black edges in that pot and one side of another. I water daily and they are in the shade except for a little evening sun.
AnswerSounds like rot root from overwatering. whether your impatiens will recover will depend on how bad they are now. I would cut them back to about 6-8" tall and stop watering. Feel the soil every few days, and only water once the soil is dry an 1" deep. You probably do not need to water daily in full shade. Every few days should be fine. After you cut the impatiens back, they require very little water until they start to grow again.
Give them a light application of fertilizer, too. They should bloom again in 4-6 weeks.
Sorry to hear.
