QuestionI understand that deer have plants they do not like or at least less so. I have read that marigolds are among them. If true, does that include the Sweet Cream (African) marigold?
Thank you for your help.
AnswerYes, all marigolds should be safe from deer, but it depends on the amount of deer you have and the time of year. If really hungry deer will eat any plant. If they have access to other food sources in your area, and the pressure of the deer population is not too high, marigold (any type) would be a good choice.
Even so, deer may nip/taste a few until they learn. Don't worry about this, because marigolds usually recover quite well from such initial browsing.
