QuestionPlease pardon me on not knowing what kind of rose exactly that I have. Except for knowing it grows beautifly onto a arch so thus it must be some kind of a climbing rose. I know this because I had it growing onto a arch and we had to move it to another location. The new location never happened except for it being transplanted into a temporary planter in a temporary spot and now I'm afraid to move it because of the season. I live in southern California Moreno Valley to be exact. And right now is close to being the hottest time of the year. So do you think I should wait until fall and risk the cooler weather or transplant now and chant if need be in hopes of it surviving another shock. We put the rose bush into its temporary container in late April of this year.
Thank you for any information

AnswerDawne,
I think you should wait until late in September when it is just a bit cooler. I would not do it much later than the first week in October, however. The plant will have plenty of time to grow roots even though it is slowing down for the dormant season. It will be important to water it in the two months after planting - a deep soaking every five or six days unless it's really hot. If it's really still quite hot, water it as you normally would, keeping in mind that a deep soaking less often is better than a little every day. Do not fertilize after planting, but wait until next spring.
I hope this helps!
