QuestionHow do you start them? I've tried soaking to take off the outer husk, putting them right into the ground and tried starting them indoors to no avail.I have been told that they are the easiest annual to grow. BEATS ME. Thanks for taking this question. Doreen
AnswerI usually soak overnight. You can start them indoors or directly in the ground, but if latter, then don't be in a hurry as the soil needs to be warm. Bury them about an inch deep. Don't start them too soon indoors because they grow fast and need a lot of heat and light. a fluorescent light fixture 2" above the top of the plants are recommended if prestarted indoors.
make sure you purchase good quality seeds.
