Can someone please help me I have 1 1/2 foot of yucca plant that my dog broke off at ground level I want to replant I have it in water right now but know if that is a good idea sense they dont require that much water to grow don't want to kill my cacti from to much water but don't know what else to do with it Please,Please help me ASAP

Survival may vary depending on the damage. The base is the most important part, which enables new leaf growth. If you want to try to root it, you must plant it in cacti soil. You are right, leaving it in water is not the best method, which can rot your plant if not removed out of the water as soon as roots appear. Before planting in the soil, set the plant in a shaded area and let the wound heal. It will harden to prevent bacteria, which is exactly what we want. After a few days of healing it, then you may plant it in the soil. The soil must be moist at the time of planting, because you will not water after planting it in the soil. When that's done, you will water it after every drought (whenever the soil dries completely). Evidence of roots may be new leaf growth.
