The cactus in the picture, I don抰 know what it is, my mother brought it back from the Virgin Islands in the 60抯. Anyway it has these flowers on top, as you can see, and I was wondering if I could grow another out of one of these flowers and how I might go about it?

AnswerHello Charlie,
I believe this is a Golden Barrel cactus. Propagation can be peerformed in two ways: Seed and Offsets. You may collect the seeds from the flowers and plant tthem using cactus soil. Another way this cactus is propagated is by offsets. This occurs when the "mom" plant grows a "baby" besides it.
