QuestionHey Greg,
I've just recently gotten into succulents. About a week ago, I bought a little Rosette one. It's white. The leaves/pedals are becoming flaccid and falling off. Could it be from under or over watering? I live in South Florida and we've been going through a drought. So, I've been watering them once a day or when soil is dry to the touch. I use the cactus soil.. it drains really fast. Only one seems to be having a problem.. Am I doing something wrong? I know succulents don't respond immediately to environmental changes like most plants, so I waited a few days before asking. But it keeps getting worse! All of my succulents get eastern exposure.. sometimes I move them around to different spots. Haven't had a problem until now. Any advice at all would be appreciated, or tips in general about growing succulents.
Thanks in Advance!
Alex
AnswerAlex,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, as I have been traveling. It sounds like over watering to me. Water only when the soil is dry (all succulent plants), and eastern exposure is great. Also, depending on the plant, time of year for watering is also very important. Some dislike watering in summer and will rot, others won't survive without it.
If you can tell me what type of plant you have, either the common name or the Latin name, I can give you a better answer. Hope this helps.
Sincerely,
Greg
