QuestionI have a cactus that I keep at my desk at work. It has a green stem with a large orange prickly bulbous head (really quite cute). I haven't really watered it for about a year and now it seems like overnight the stem has gone from bright green to a drab brown green and the orange top is getting brownish with a few dark spots. I currently have it planted in a glass pot with a mix of soil & sand (this is how it came from the shop)
Can I do anything to save my cacuts? Thanks!
AnswerKim,
I am sorry for the delay in answering you, have had some computer issues that are now resolved. Cactus should be watered once the soil dries out. Try watering it and adding a little fertilizer, as that might help revive it. Just keep in mind that your plant is one type of cactus grafted onto another. Because of the process that turns the upper plant from green to orange, it severely decreases the life span of the plant as a whole. Hope this helps.
Sincerely,
Greg
