QuestionI have a potted aloe plant that I know is at least 3 years old. Generally during the winter I keep it indoors and then put it out in the summer. Last year I had no problem with this. But this year, every time I put it outside the leaves immediately turn brown. Not in splotches or patches, I mean the whole thing goes from green to brown-kind of like it was bruised or something. So far it seems that as soon as I bring it back in it clears right up. I am just kind of interested in what might be going on and if I need to be doing something to take better care of it. Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

AnswerBrittany,
The only thing that makes sense is that your plant is being sunburned. Plants that overwinter indoors, loose their resistance to direct sunlight (which may be the reason it didn't happen its first summer). If you put it outside, just make sure it is in shade and hopefully it will be fine.
Sincerely,
Greg
