QuestionI have a lonely Yucca that has finished it's bloom this year and now has about 20 large green seed pods growing skyward. Are these something I can plant? Do I wait until they start to dry and split, then plant? What time of year is best to plant. I live in Eastern Iowa. My goal is to have more Yuccas!
AnswerRon,
You need to wait until the seed pods dry and split. After that, go ahead and plant the seeds in the areas you want them to grow. If it is a native plant, then you won't need to do anything special. If not, Wait until spring, sow the seeds in pots, then transplant them. Hope this helps.
Sincerely,
Greg
