aloe vera potted indoor plants

Question
I'm having problems with an Aloe Vera plant that I inherited. I bought a bank
of Pioneer Lights , 4 Fluorescent, 24w-T5 6500k tubes thinking that it isn't
getting enough light. I live in Westchester County, Ny and it's seasonal. I was
doing OK during the winter with the high sun but since the sun is lower and
the trees are fulling out, I need more light. As far as water, I've probably been
over watering. In the summer, I'm watering every 2 weeks and in the winter
every month. The appearance of the plan is OK but the ends of some of the
stalks are turning brown and since sometimes I place the plant outside on the
front porch, I'm assuming that the plant doesn't really prefer directly light.
What do you think, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks Heath.

Answer
Heath,

I would back off the watering by a week or so. As far as direct sunlight, you are right. Most store bought plants are greenhouse grown and not used to direct sunlight and will sunburn. A slow transition to direct sunlight will work, but you plant would prefer strong indirect light. Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Greg
