Cactus Damaged while transplanting

Question
Dear Sirs,

my girlfriend bought me 5months ago a very small cactus about 4cm height. Due to it's growth I had to transplant it. I put it in a bigger flowerpot and I added some water. Unfortunately the cactus started getting from green to yellow. Today (1 month after the transplant) I decided to change the earth on the flowepot and put a better mixture more appropriate. Since I had no experience during the procudure all the roots were cut off. I tried to cabw the cactus so part of it is under the earth. I added some water and put it under direct sunlight and about 4 Celcius temperature. I just found out about this is site and ,according to everything I read, I have made nothing but mistakes. Is there any way to save it???

Thank you

Answer
Vangelis,

Your certanly did. However, move it into an area that is warmer, is in very bright but not direct sunlight and water only if the soil is dry. If it takes root, you should see some new growth in a month or two after replanting.

You can also try a product called "Superthrive" which is a root stimulator. Just make sure to follow the directions.
Good luck!

Sincerely,

Greg
