Hello,
I live in NE Arkansas and have 2 very large cacti (7' & 4') my husband purchased at wal-mart a couple of years ago.  We did not get them inside early enough this winter and the smaller one has what appears to be frostbite (I can send a pic but not sure how to attach one here).  Is there a way I can remove the brown places without hurting the cactus?  I always heard a person has a truly brown thumb if they kill a cactus, I want to  think there is hope for me yet!

You can send a picture to [email protected]. However, if you remove the brown spot you will also leave a scar that will be larger. I would at least wait until spring to do anything anyway. Don't worry about your brown thumb, I have killed plenty of cactus, but overall I have a pretty green thumb.
