Sedum Morgantum

Question
Greg,
I had a Sedum Morgantum "Donkey Tail for about a year and it had done great.  The plant is very fragile and if one was to touch it the little "pea leaves" will just fall off.  So I have been reluctant to repot it even though it is not in an attractive pot.  Well, today I went for it cause the plant is slowly dieing on me.  It has been drying up and when I water it then the shoots get soggy.  I can't find a meduim. What am I doing wrong?  Now that I have repotted shoots have fallen off how can I use them to propagate them into new plants or add to the original plant? I really don't want to loose this one it is my favorite.

Answer
Dear Domini,

Here is a webpage that has some very good care info:

It sounds like maybe overwatering that cuased root damage could be the issue. Soil drainage is also important, make sure it drains well. Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Greg
