Question
I have a great big Aloe, which has two baby's growing off it which now need separating and potting to grow on their own.

I don't have 'green fingers' and I remember a friend telling me something about sterilizing a knife before cutting...but that's about it....It'd be great if you could help me by explaining how to cut off the baby aloe and replanting. I'm a bit 'simple' when it comes to plants so keep it nice and easy. Thanks so much. Best Regards

Aloe's are not the easiest plants to propagate by cutting. Your friend is correct however. Make sure the lenght from the bottom of the leaves to the cut is at least 4 to 5 inches. Let it "heal" for at least a couple of weeks before planting. Make sure to put in a "cactus mix" type of soil. Water only when the soil is dry and not at all for the first few weeks. If they root, it will take a couple of months, so be patient. Hope this helps.
