QuestionHi,
I have a very , very large euphorbia, we replanted last year and it is doing very well, but it is leaning on our window and I was advised not to try to repot it. I really want to try to straighten it out and or seperate it. It has 2 stalks with lots of arms out of each.
Do you think I should leave it alone or repot it.
Any help you can gicve me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Laurie
AnswerDear Laurie,
Since I can't see your plant it will be difficult to give you a good answer. However, you may be able to straighten up your plant without repotting. Loosen the soil around the pot with a long screw driver and then position the plant the way you want it. Have some one hold it in position, then take the blunt end of a broom handle and tamp the soil down around the stem. Continue tamping the soil until you can let go of the plant without it leaning. If the soil is dry, water it at this time.
That should help. If you want to take cuttings, do so about a foot or two above the soil level. Becarful not to get the white "sap" or latex get on you. In some Euphorbias the latex will burn your skin. Let it heal for at least 2 to 3 weeks before replanting. If you need further, please ask a follow up question. Thanks!
Sincerely,
Greg
