QuestionDear Greg;
My aloe vera plant was at my son's house while I moved and now I have it back. It looks to me that it didn't get watered. The base is brown and sort of crusty but there are new pups coming off. How do I go about transplanting my plant? I am looking forward to your answer. Thank you very much! ADE
AnswerDear Ade,
Most Aloes can go quite a while without water. There are no special requirements for transplanting. Just make sure you use a good cacus type soil when you do. Water it once right after you replant it, then not again until the soil is dry.
Plastic pots hold in moisture longer than ceramic ones, so you'll need to consider that also. Aloes are pretty tough, so your plant should take the transplant just fine. Good luck!
Sincerely,
Greg
