QuestionI have a pot of S. Flava that I bought from you a couple of years ago. I noticed that it is putting up new flower stalks. Since it is November, the plant must be confused.
Should I cut the stalks off or just let the flowers grow?
Bill
AnswerHi Bill,
Sarracenia putting up flower stalks in the fall isn't that unusual. They will usually produce a shorter flower that usually doesn't have a chance to set seed should it actually get pollinated. Our summer and fall was so warm it not uncommon to see this. I had a big S. rosea that did the same thing.
Good Growing!
