Hi!

I just finished working installing my first in-ground bog. I have not yet put a rock border around the pond liner trim but this morning I found a drowned worm in one of the pools of water that is collect on the liner edge.

How can / should I prevent worms from entering my bog and turning the delicious peat in to nutritious soil?

Hi Trace,

I really don't know of any way to completely stop that from happening.  Creating some kind of physical barrier is the only way I can think of.  It might take the form of some solid edging or something else the worms can't crawl through or around.  Also, it would really take quite awhile for the worms to degrade the peat moss, and because of the acidity and high water, it's not going to be their preferred place to live.
