QuestionOkay so this one is a little odd. After the rains last week all my sarracenia have begun attracting flies like crazy. Well - my Extreme Green that I got from you guys has absolutely gorged. I glanced down one of the traps though yesterday and noticed that it now has a wriggling writhing mass of maggots.
Should I be concerned that they will harm my plant (and perhaps open a portal unleashing eldritch horrors upon the Earth) or will they in the long run be beneficial?
AnswerHi Jesse,
This happens. It's not of any concern. If the top of a pitcher dies from this, just cut the top part off. The maggots will actually help with digestion!
Good Growing!
