QuestionI came home today to discover that the guys who mow my lawn apparently knocked over the water trough with the Sarracenia in it and either mowed over them or weed whacked them. All the new pitchers are gone and the flower stalk on the Flava is gone. I refilled the water and pretty much repotted what was left of them. The roots looked ok. Should they come back out or should I worry?
AnswerHi Patricia,
As long as the rhizome and growing point are intact, you should be able to bounce back from this. It may take some time for it to recover, but this is best time of year if a plant has to go through some kind of disturbance. It might be sketchier if it were late fall.
Good Growing!
