Dear Jeff, Jacob,

been a while, I hope all is good at your side. I enjoyed Jacob磗 last video for the February care. Good job, as usual!

However, I have a question about repotting CP, concerns Sarracenia and Dionaea that I keep outside all year round.

Here in Germany, especially where I live, in Cologne, we have had so minor freezing, minus 5 celsius, but all was fine. Last week, sun was shining pretty well, temps reached +10 celsius, could have been up to +15 when hit by the sun directly. Now temperatures are back to "normal" with 7-9 C?

Should I repott my Sarracenia (which need more space for this upcoming season) now, knowing that spring and growth may come in around 4-6 weeks, or should I wait until growth can be seen and has clearly started?

I was wondering if the repotting of the plants may trigger growth, even if they are supposed to be hibernating? I don磘 want to risk repotting, triggering growth, and after 2 weeks, back to hibernation...

What is your experience and expert tip in this case?

Hi Jean-Paul,

You're fine to re-pot now.  Temperatures seem to be the primary factor in them coming out of dormancy combined with the photoperiod.  We do lots of transplanting right now, and it doesn't seem to make them wake up any sooner.
