Insecticide crystals

Question
Hello,

A while ago you said that besides Bayer Rose and Flower plant killer, there was some kind of crystals that I could put into the soil of my Heliamphoras, but I can't remember what it was.

The Bayer spray works fine, but sometimes the clumps of pitchers are too thick to be sure I can spray into them, and I can end up using more of it than I planned.

Answer
Hi John,

Here's an example of stuff you put in the soil:  http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BX1HKI/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_1/177-2408532-7

Since the active ingredient in the Bayer products is imidacloprid, it's systemic.  If you are getting most of the leaves wet it goes into the plant's tissues and lasts for about 3 weeks.  It doesn't need to make contact with the rhizome.

Good Growing!
