Unpot Sarracenia in Glas

Question
Sarracenia Glas
Sarracenia Glas
Hi Jeff, Jacob,

I tried something else and grew some Sarracenia in undrained glas containers...I know pretty silly, but still they did well!

Now I should surely repot them in late winter, however, I the roots are growing along the glass and so, I don磘 know how to go further...

Should I:

1.) Just break the glass gently and remove it?

or

2.) Try to remove the plant from above with a spoon or something?

Thank you and have a good day.

JP

Answer
Hi JP,

Because of the shape of the vase, and given that it's glass, it should drop right out of the container.  You shouldn't need to break the glass or dig it out.  At the end of winter the plant isn't super sensitive, so just grasp it by the leaf mass and pull it out.

Good Growing!
