Will the Heliamphora make it?

Question
The Sad Story of the Badly Packaged Heliamphora
The Sad Story of the B

The Sequel
The Sequel
Hello,

So, I recently (as in this morning) received this Heliamphora from an online nursery (whom shall be not be named) and upon opening the intact box, found the delicate sun pitcher all but smashed to a pathetic mess. Shattered like my heart. I contacted the owners and am still deciding what to do. The roots seem alright, and I'm not sure whether or not to send it back or keep it and try to save it. Based on the pictures, what do you guys think? This whole ordeal has been very sad and very disappointing, and I'm sure sending this little guy back will mean its certain death. It was shipped with no protective covering, the way Sarracenia Northwest sends their plants, and I'm sure that is one of the reasons why it was so utterly banged up.

So my question is this: do you think it will pull through?

Best Regards,
H

Answer
Hi Hal,

Not sure why they shipped it this way.  It's just better to do bare-root if you don't secure the soil well.

As long as the roots were not too badly damaged, it will probably make it.  Smaller plants tend to be resilient.  Since you have it in higher humidity it should help it's recovery.

Good Growing!
