Why is my Clf bulb so hot? It is suppose to be warm, but it's hot. The bulbs are 100 watt equivalents and run on 23 watts. The fixture is designed for a 150 watt incandescent blub. I have attached some pictures.

P.s I decided not to get the Burpee light, so I got a light clamp and some Clf bulbs.

Answer
Hi Eric,

Manufacturers have made CFL's smaller and more efficient over the years.  They run hotter.  They are nowhere near as hot as incandescent bulbs, however.  Just adjust your distance from plants accordingly.

Good Growing!
