Branching drosophyllum

Question
Hello Sarracenia Northwest,

I have a 1,5 year old drosophyllum which flowered this spring. Great, but now the crown of the plant doesn't develop leaves. In the leaf axils, I see many new grow points emerging with flower buds. Should I cut off these in order so that the plant produces leaves again?

Kind regards,
  Joachim - Belgium

Answer
With our plants, we've noticed that when they produce flowers, they rarely produce leaves.  However, they resume leaf growth when the blooms are done.  If you're not interested in harvesting seeds, you might as well clip off the flower stalk.  Your plant will resume leaf production very shortly.

Good growing!
